Guest Services Associate / Marina Store Attendant

Location: Relaxed Retreat Resort & Marina

Position Summary

Relaxed Retreat is seeking an energetic, friendly, and dependable team member to join our resort and marina operations. This position is ideal for someone who is a natural “people person” and enjoys interacting with guests in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The successful candidate will provide outstanding customer service while assisting with reservations, marina rentals, retail sales, food preparation, and general housekeeping duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Guest Service & Reservations

• Greet guests in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner.
• Answer telephone calls and assist guests with reservations, questions, and resort information.
• Check guests in and out of cabins, boat rentals, and marina services.
• Provide information about resort amenities, local attractions, fishing conditions, and marina operations.
• Resolve guest concerns and complaints professionally while maintaining a positive guest experience.
• Demonstrate patience, empathy, and problem-solving skills when handling upset or dissatisfied customers.

Marina & Boat Rental Operations

• Assist guests with boat, kayak, and other watercraft rentals.
• Explain rental agreements, safety procedures, and operating instructions.
• Maintain accurate rental records and documentation.
• Handle and sell live bait and fishing supplies while maintaining proper storage and cleanliness standards.
• Assist with marina store operations and inventory management.

Retail Sales & Cash Handling

• Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately and efficiently.
• Ring up retail merchandise, food items, bait sales, and rental transactions.
• Handle cash, credit card, and electronic payment transactions.
• Count money accurately and maintain accountability for cash handling procedures.
• Balance cash drawers during opening and closing shifts.
• Assist with stocking shelves and maintaining merchandise displays.

Food Service

• Prepare pizzas, wings, and other menu items according to company standards.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness of food preparation areas and equipment.
• Monitor food inventory and notify management of low stock levels.

Store Maintenance

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain cleanliness of customer areas.
• Dust shelves, merchandise, counters, and displays.
• Clean and organize workstations, storage areas, and public spaces.
• Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the resort and marina.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to multitask and remain organized during busy periods.
• Ability to remain calm and professional when handling difficult situations.
• Basic math skills and ability to accurately handle cash transactions.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak vacation periods as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to handle live bait and fish-related products.

Preferred Qualifications: (but not required)

• Previous experience in hospitality, retail, marina operations, food service, or customer service.
• Experience using reservation software and point-of-sale systems.
• Knowledge of boating, fishing, and outdoor recreation is a plus.
