Best Species to Target This Week: Get Hooked!
Largemouth Bass
Fish for largemouth bass this week in 5 to 15 feet of water over a rocky bottom using a topwater frog or spinnerbait. A slow retrieve with quick jerks should encourage a strike at 10 feet.
Bluegill
Target bluegill in 2 to 6 feet of water over a sandy bottom using small jigs or live worms. A steady retrieve with light twitching action will entice bites at 4 feet.
Channel Catfish
Fish for channel catfish in 10 to 20 feet of water over a muddy bottom using cut bait or stink bait. A slow retrieve with dragging action should provoke a bite at 15 feet.
Best Times to Be on the Water This Week: Don’t Miss the Action!
Largemouth Bass
Due to improving weather and rising water temperatures, largemouth bass will be actively feeding in the late afternoon. 3 PM to 6 PM will be the optimal time to target this species.
Bluegill
With warmer days ahead, bluegill will be feeding in the shallows during the early morning hours. 6 AM to 9 AM will be the best time to catch them.
Channel Catfish
As the week progresses and temperatures rise, channel catfish will be more active during the night. 8 PM to 11 PM will be the ideal time to fish for them.
