Best Species to Target: Get Ready to Cast!

  • Largemouth Bass:

Fish for largemouth bass this week in 5-10 feet of water over a sandy bottom using a crankbait. A steady retrieve with a jerking action should encourage a strike at 6 feet.

  • Catfish:

Target catfish in deeper waters around 10-15 feet over a muddy bottom using cut bait. Slow dragging with a bottom bumping action will work wonders at 12 feet.

  • Crappie:

Crappie can be found in 3-6 feet of water over submerged structures using jigs. A slow and steady retrieve with a twitch action is effective at 4 feet.

Best Times to be on the Water: Prime Time for Bites!

  • Largemouth Bass:

Due to warming temperatures and improving water clarity, largemouth bass will be actively feeding in the early afternoon. 1 PM – 3 PM will be the optimal time to target this species.

  • Catfish:

With current water levels stabilizing, catfish will be feeding in the late evening. 6 PM – 8 PM is the best time to fish for catfish.

  • Crappie:

As the water warms up, crappie will be feeding in the morning. 7 AM – 9 AM is the ideal time to target this species.
