Catch of the Week: What’s Biting?
Largemouth Bass
Fish for largemouth bass this week in 8-12 feet of water over a rocky bottom using a spinnerbait. A slow retrieve with erratic action should encourage a strike at 10 feet.
Bluegill
Target bluegill in 4-6 feet of water over a sandy bottom using live worms. A steady retrieve with a gentle action is effective at 5 feet.
Channel Catfish
Fish for channel catfish this week in 10-15 feet of water over a muddy bottom using cut bait. A slow retrieve with a bottom bouncing action will attract bites at 12 feet.
Prime Time for the Perfect Catch!
Largemouth Bass
Due to the warm weather trends and improving water clarity, largemouth bass will be actively feeding in the early morning hours. 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM will be the optimal time to target this species.
Bluegill
With the steady warm temperatures, bluegill will be feeding in the shallows during the late afternoon. 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM will be the best time to catch them.
Channel Catfish
Channel catfish will be most active during the cooler night hours. 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM is the prime time to target them.
