Best Species to Target This Week
Largemouth Bass
Fish for largemouth bass this week in 5-15 feet of water over a rocky bottom using a topwater frog. A slow retrieve with a walk-the-dog action should encourage a strike at 10 feet.
Bluegill
Target bluegill in 2-6 feet of water near submerged vegetation with small jigs or worms. A steady retrieve with a gentle twitch action will entice these feisty fish.
Channel Catfish
Channel catfish can be found in 10-20 feet of water over a muddy bottom using cut bait or stink bait. A slow, steady retrieve with minimal movement is ideal for attracting them.
Best Times to Be on the Water This Week
Largemouth Bass
Due to warming temperatures and stable water conditions, largemouth bass will be actively feeding in the early morning and late evening. 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM will be optimal for targeting this species.
Bluegill
With stable conditions, bluegill will be feeding heavily during the warmest parts of the day. 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM will be the best time to fish for them.
Channel Catfish
As the weather warms and storms approach, channel catfish will be feeding more actively at night. 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM will be the prime time for this species.
