Your Catch of the Week!
Largemouth Bass
Fish for largemouth bass this week in 5-10 feet of water over a rocky structure using a crankbait or soft plastics. A slow retrieve with a twitching action should encourage a strike at 5-10 feet.
Blue Catfish
Target blue catfish in deeper water (10-20 feet) over muddy bottom using cut bait or live bait. A slow and steady retrieve with a deliberate action should entice bites at 10-20 feet.
Channel Catfish
Fish for channel catfish in shallower waters (5-10 feet) using stink bait or chicken livers over a sandy bottom. A quick retrieve to create noise and movement is effective for eliciting strikes.
Timing is Everything!
Largemouth Bass
Due to the sunny conditions and warming water, largemouth bass will be actively feeding in the late morning to early afternoon. The optimal time will be from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Blue Catfish
With decreasing water temperatures, blue catfish are expected to feed most actively during the late afternoon and evening. Plan on fishing from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM for best success.
Channel Catfish
Channel catfish will be actively feeding after sunset when temperatures drop slightly. The best time to fish for channel cats will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
